  • School founded in 1893

  • School colors: Red, Grey

  • Enrollment: approximately 1,080 in grades 6-12.  Boarding opportunities are available.

  • Football Classification: Division II, Class AA.  Division II-AA members include BGA, Brentwood Academy, Briarcrest, Christian Brothers, ECS, Ensworth, Father Ryan, Knoxville Webb, MBA, McCallie, MUS, Pope John Paul II, and St. Benedict.

  • Head Coach: Phillip Massey, who has compiled a 11-11 record in his first two years (2006-2007) at Baylor. 

  • Baylor ranks fourth in all-time wins in Tennessee, behind only Dobyns-Bennett, MBA, and Maryville.

  • In addition to its one TSSAA-recognized state title in football (1973), Baylor was also named state football champion in 1929, 1931, and 1944.

  • Baylor's 1973 state championship football team was also named National Champion by at least one wire service.

  • Joe Steffy (Class of 1944) won the Outland Trophy at Army in 1947.

  • Famous Baylor alumni include Roscoe Tanner, who rose as high as fourth in the world professional tennis rankings in 1979.
